far and away

For five days, we got away from it all
travelled by car thru washington, to idaho and montana
Some highlights, Odes first swim! At THE LAKE..He's a natural!
He got to hang out with his cousins, and sweet dogs
First sleep in a tent! First wedding, where he assigned himself the job of making sure everyone had lemonade..and made his rounds chatting w folks, and listened to the band play w his newfound kid friends, jumped on the trampoline, and played
Made a quick and dizzying trip BACK to Idaho from Montana at nightfall in an exciting wind and thunderstorm that covered n idaho in branches, fallen trees and knocked out power to 37000 customers
We also visited grandma and grandpa in e washington during the power outage that happened after the big storm, he pet a horse there and visited their lake also

He met family he hadnt seen since he was one..and adored everyone
I swam almost every day..for the first time in years
Chris and I agreed that sleeping on the earth is underrated..
Our sleeping bags, big flannel ones proved awesome
We slept like rocks all three of us
It was mostly gloriously sunny
The wedding was awesome and beautiful
We were almost late to it having not accounted for the time change!! Yikes
Totally worth the short trip
An action packed tour
Fresh air, cool clean lake water
Sun, trees, and gorgeous views everywhere we went
Yay vacation..s'about time! Long overdue

Oh! And we finally got in for breakfast at the hoot owl! After years of trying
And had dinner at Ivanho s for the first time one nite w aunti kathy
