Sidetracked on the way to the grocery store

It was near 11am,
The last day of winter break,
we couldnt decide what to do
We agreed we needed groceries
So off we went.......
Then,
we get out on the road,
it's such a beautiful day
"We should go to the beach!"
The first beach didn't happen .....too much snow/ice
So off to Lincoln Park in west seattle we go!!
Then,
On the way there,
We drive past the Fauntleroy ferry,
ooooh! Let's go on the ferry!!!
So we get in line,
The guy says where you headed?
We don't know, I mean who cares! It's sunny and freezing and we're going on the ferry!!!
We pick Vashon Island.
Woohoo!! Yeah!
Then,
we're on the ferry, on a beautiful NW day, headed for somewhere good we're sure!

I fund myself regularly startled lately at how grown he looks in pictures.. even the expressions..

So stinking happy to be in this air  💙💙💙

We drive off the ferry and just keep driving
down the one road.
My cell service comes back - and we get directions to the only sand beach on the island!!!
The Below Mossy road leads there.

How does a ROAD get mossy? This seems odd to me, and I'm from here..

The beachy salt air smell was amazing
We never cease to be in awe of the adventure available, just off the doorstep,
living around here..

I will say it was reeallly cold w the wind blowing. .
Ode borrowed my scarf and we shared mittens back and forth..

 Finally Headed back home over the water.

As we're getting off the hi way near our home,

We realize, we forgot to get groceries!!

Well there's leftover chili in the fridge, should hold us over another day

Totally WORTH it
