Lake Crescent - a slippery slope
So we got up early one day
Well, every day, and took the locals "short cut" to Lake Crescent from our cabin, which at the time had minimal snow..
We drove back into 'town' (a general store and cafe) and turned right, as directed,
about a mile in,
we started climbing, and climbing, and the snow was now covering the road,
Then it narrowed down to a single lane,
And more snow & ice
And no turning around at this point
The road snakes up and down, twisting so you couldn't see if anyone was coming.. white knuckle ride for the newbies at least,
We finally we came down out of the hills,
And found Lake Crescent
It was absolutely lovely
And so very quiet, besides the occasional calls of birds
After the drive in though, we decided not to venture any further into the foothills, and headed into Port Angeles instead.
