Goodbye Orcas.
On the ferry at last
View from the passenger deck
There was soo much snow for HOW STEEP the hills to the ferry
and getting ON the ferry are..
slow motion terror!
This big century link truck went down the hill beside us, in a giant work Truck w a big trailer, sliding, sliding ALL the wind-ey way down the hill,
teetering on the hillside.
I had to cover my face finally.
We left Eastsound and it was snowing but not sticking,
20 mins later the road is covered,
people are stopping ON THE HILL,
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD,
LEAVING THEIR DOORS OPEN..
to look at WHERE their tires are slipping?? Who does this?
AARRRGH!!??
#headsup!
Just kidding
No seagulls were harmed in the making of this photo.
This is just an eye trick, the seagull was well and away from Odes wish rock that he threw into the salish sea
This photo here, is when we're packing up,
it starts snowing,
Ode is catching them (snowflakes) on his tongue.
Sad to leave, So peaceful
So this picture doesn't look like much
But it's kind of a big deal for us
We let Ode walk to the store at the end of the road by himself,
Where he bought stuff with his own money, came up with the right amount of $ for his purchase, got change etc.. with no help from us
I stood in front of our cabin and watched,
Pretended to sweep the deck
He was so proud of himself, he begged to do it again the next day
He stood a little straighter,
Wanted to do everything "himself" after that.
It was a big day for little dude
He slept in the loft alone under the skylight
He walked his dog himself
Packed up all his own gear, offered his help to us in getting packed..
Quite a big kid he's getting to be.
