That bright green thing in the middle is a river kayaker.. just beyond the sign that says dangerous river conditions beyond this point.. we saw him earlier in the parking lot, and thought surely he's not going IN today.. the rivers so high.. but he did!
He seemed to be waiting, gathering himself here, just before the bend.. after the bend is class IV!!

Ode had lots thoughts and comments the whole hike,
we instituted, 'let's walk in silence until the next bend' type games .. so we can hear the river and the birds sing..
