The highlight of this trip was a surprise to us. While we were at the sea centre, Giant, beautiful, canoes started arriving right outside on the beach.
It was awe inspiring to watch them approach, turn broadside to the beach, circle, and then land in turn. Requesting permission to come ashore from the host tribe. All while singing and drumming on the bottoms of the canoes with paddle ends..
This was a stop for the tribes on the 2018 Paddle to Puyallup
A beautiful sight.
One of the arrivals said this was their first visit in 100 years, & they were from Alberta Ca.
