happy mail

We got this card in the mail yesterday

from someone we didnt know

it was a thank you card from the daughter of the woman who used to live in our new house

wishing us many happy years and joy in the new place

besides wishing us well which was so sweet!

She enclosed some pics of the house way back when (winter of 1965 looks like a beast!)

she said her Mom and Dad found the place in 1960

Her mom said she would never move again after finding it

and never did, lived here for 51 years

she was pretty cose to my age when they bought the house.

the gargantuan blueberry bushes were planted in 1961!!

they are 51 years OLD!

and the Elm tree out front of the house is not an Elm at all

but a Black Walnut tree

that was planted in 1964

One of the best mail things ever!

I got a little choked up at her kindness

and well wishes and history on our new place!

It also made me smile to understand how special this sort of thing feels on the receiving end...

I left the people that bought our house flowers and a note wishing them home blessings and many happy years and such..and was worried it might be weird or hoakie.
