i am slowly acquainting myself with the trees and fauna of the new place

there is a 2 foot tall OWL in one of the trees! IT looks SO real!

or wood carved..

but chris says its a plastic "scare" owl

not sure what they were trying to scare..

i already mentioned the grapevines in the back yard

we've also found a thornless blackberry!

3 lilacs - light purple smelly ones from our stock

a mountain willow - beautiful blue green tiny leaves

a beauty berry

a red something dogwood (the ones whose bark turns screaming red in winter) this ones leaves do too

a jelena witch hazel (mmm smelly dr seuss tree!)

a mock orange - maybe 2?

a viburnum forgot the name

2 verigated sambuca nigras -elderberry

The lawn has been mowed two or three times so far

and frankly looks pretty ugly

it's turned quite brown in places

and we have discovered our "new" lawn tractor to be the culprit

dull blades, are beating the grass down to a pulp,

instead of "cutting"
