sump pump snazz

we discovered lst night at 11pm
that our main pump had stopped working
chris was under the house for 45 mns pumping with the little emergency pump
the water table has finally come up
and now a non working pump is not an option
he went and go a new one
and installed it today
and was commenting again on the goodness of the previous owners
there are two flood lamps set up down there, conveniently over the pump holes
and  even little bunches of new, spare sump parts
set conveniently near each pump!
even the insulation beneath the house has been painstakingly enclosed to keep stuff out!
when we bought the house, part of what Chris loved about it was that it was so well mantained over the years, everything was in good repair
and the crawlspace (im told) is immaculate! and you can practically stand under there. i bet he was sooo glad of it last nght at 11pm too

so i realize this may not be the most fascinating topic
but after my workday fiasco
of runnng he truck out of gas (i got home FINE today btw)
then the 1130 surprise of sump pump crap out
the small things
made a big difference!
